প্রভু ইস্রায়েলীয়দের দায়ূদের পরিবার থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন করেন এবং ইস্রায়েলীয়রা নবাটের পুত্র যারবিয়ামকে তাদের রাজা করেন| আর যারবিয়াম ইস্রায়েলীয়দের প্রভু নির্দেশিত পথ থেকে দূরে সরিয়ে এনে ভযঙ্কর সমস্ত পাপের পথে নিয়ে যান ও তাদের পাপাচরণে বাধ্য করেন|
